Settling In :)

Hello there friends! This week was good! I can't really remember what happened. I should start writing myself notes so I know what to say. Anyway I'll try my best! We did service for a guy names David this week! IT WAS SO FUN!! We helped him move wood and piled his wood. It was great to wear a t-shirt and jeans! David has been getting the lessons for like forever now but lately he hasn't been asked commitments or anything so we think that he thinks meeting with the missionaries is just like hanging out, but Sister Reddish and I are gonna change that. We had asked him the week before to read the intro to the Book of Mormon and we were gonna ask him if he thought it was true like he used to, but we didn't ever end up making it to a lesson haha. David likes to talk a lot - like A LOT. Everyone in Ohio/PA likes to talk a lot but David is a special case. He reminds me of someone from home so I love to see him! He is one of my favorite people I've met probably! We&

I'm Here

I'm finally in the Ohio Cleveland Mission!! I flew in last Tuesday afternoon. We went to the mission home and met President and Sister Brown. They're so sweet, but I'm intimidated my them ... but its okay! Everyone says they're awesome! I believe them! We ate a delicious dinner there and then we had interviews with President Brown and a testimony meeting and then we went to bed early. It was so nice to go to bed because I woke up at  2:30  that morning.  The next morning we got up early and went to Kirtland. It was such an amazing experience to go there. Did you know that Kirtland has been said that it will be lifted up again? The Lord said that it would be lifted up again after having a scourge placed on it and stuff, but that's why I'm here! It is to bring the people in the Land of Kirtland to Christ! It's so awesome! So many cool things have happened here and I'm honored to be here! We toured the temple and stood where Jesus Christ, Heavenly Fath

13 June 2017 Dear Brother & Sister Grant, We are so pleased that your daughter, Sister Adrienne Grant, arrived safely in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. we have inserted a picture of her taken in the Mission Home. We appreciate this fine young missionary. Your daughter is now in the area of her first assignment. Her first companion is Sister Sarah Elizabeth Reddish. They will be serving in the Youngstown Area. The enclosed map of Ohio may be helpful as you track your daughter's transfers from area to area. She will be able to email you on her preparation day (Wednesday) and let you know her address. Please send any mail directly to your daughter's address. Our greatest desire is that your daughter has a joyful, successful missionary experience. She will need your support spiritually and temporally. Your weekly letters of encouragement and love will be critically essential. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this important time in the life of your daughter

THEY ARE HERE!

We spoke with Adri this morning while she waited for her flight to depart. It was wonderful to hear her voice. So grateful she is happy. We tracked her flight's progress as it flew to Detroit and then on to Cleveland. Within a few minutes we received this reassuring e-mail: Dear Missionary Parents, This letter is to let you know your precious missionary arrived at the Cleveland-Hopkins International  A irport at  3:00  pm EST this afternoon.  All of the missionaries were met by President and Sister Brown and taken to the Mission Home for a warm welcome with a lovely dinner served within the hour, and then interviews with President Brown and medical interviews with Sister Brown and Sister Harvey, our medical coordinator.  They will have a testimony meeting and then try to get a good night’s sleep to prepare for the amazing beginning of their mission service in the morning.  After breakfast they will depart for Kirtland with a tour of the Kirtland Temple and a tour of the Kirt

Sister Grant and Sister Warren Hello hello friends!  I love you all! This week has gone incredibly fast! It feels like just yesterday I was having P-day. I feel really comfortable here now and that's all gonna go away for a while because I leave bright and early 3:30 Tuesday  morning! Myself, Sister Warren, Elder Hawkins, and Elder Skinner all leave at 3:30  in the morning to head to the airport... yay.. jk It will be good! We also travel with 5 other sisters going to Cleveland but they're all assigned to the visitors center! So that'll be fun to get to know them! We've seen them and I follow one on instagram and they're all very sweet! I'm excited to go with them! The rest of our district leaves at 3:50 in the  morning. I will be so sad to leave my district :( but that's okay! We all plan on staying in touch! I just love them all so much! A lot of people moved into the new buildings this week but my zone moves in  next Monday , so we'll get one

Loving the MTC and a Testimony

Dear Mom, Dad, Collin, Kenna, and Katy,  (letter written on Sunday, June 4th) Record Katy's setting apart! Then you can type it and send it to her. Sister Warren did that and I think it's a great idea. How is Katy? I honestly can't think about her leaving because it makes me wanna cry. I know that I had such a bad day (the second day only - every day has been better since) I'm worried about her. I know I shouldn't be and I'm trying not to, but it's hard not to! I've really learned to fully rely on the Lord. He has felt these exact same things we've felt. He will help us through them. We taught our first investigator (an MTC one) on Monday. I was terrified. We taught her the Restoration (which I have learned a lot about). Her name is Patty and she had a son that died. We shared with her some trials in our life and how we know God had helped us through. Parents, the spirit was so strong! I didn't even need my notes. I just spoke from my heart

Week One, Y'all

District 41C I cannot believe I'm already a week down! What a roller coaster it has been! I've had sadness but so much happiness! My testimony has grown so much! More than I could even imagine! I miss home but I'm loving it here! Let me tell you about my awesome district! They're the best people and I know I was meant to be in a district with them! GO DISTRICT 41C! Anyway, I'm in it and my awesome companion's name is Sister Warren. She is from Saratoga Springs, Utah. She loooves Harry Styles. She is so patient and just the best around. We were meant to be companions! We're both called to serve in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. Go Cavs (how're they doing btw?)! Also called to the Ohio Cleveland Mission is Elder Skinner and Elder Hawkins. They're quiet but funny! Elder Skinner is from Mesa AZ I think and Elder Hawkins is from Lehi. Elder Skinner reminds me so much of Ryker Swensen (SHOUT OUT TO RYKER AKA LAVENDER). Then there is Sister Ellis (our STL
